I spent the night in Douglasville on my way to Clemson, SC, and discovered this little Georgia State Park. The New Manchester Manufacturing Company textile mill was built on Sweetwater Creek back in 1846 and operated until Union soldiers burned it in 1864. All that is left now are the ruins of the old factory and the millrace (ditch) that were built with slave labor.
